Vince Edward Tarver, 92, of Lake Charles, LA died Monday, January 18, 2016 in a local care facility.
Vince was born on March 10, 1923 in Natalbany, LA to Isaac and Fannie Tarver. He resided in Lake Charles, LA for the past fifty years. Vince was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran from 1942 until 1946 serving aboard the Destroyer USS Cleveland, CL-55 in the Pacific Theater. He retired from Northrop Grumman as an aircraft mechanic and inspector. Vince was a member of Iowa United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish Vince’s memory are his loving wife, Eula Talkington Tarver; his three daughters, Catherine Elizabeth Long , Laura Grace Duhon , and Sheila Joy Davis and Michael ; five sons, Vincent Wade Tarver and wife Marcella , Gordon Bruce Tarver and wife Jo Ann , Donald Brian Tarver and wife Julia , Phillip Eric Tarver and wife DeWanna ,and Timothy Edward Tarver and wife Melissa; one sister, Florence Bankston; twenty eight grandchildren, forty two great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Roy Howard Tarver, Lloyd Tarver, George Tarver; four sisters, Hilda Golema, Bernice Sturgis, Wilda White, and Corrine Beach; one grandson; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, January 22, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM .Visitation will be Friday, January 22, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until time of service. Rev. Doug Ezell will officiate services. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery.
