Vincent G "Pop" Marras Sr.

Vincent G. (Pop) Marras, Sr. died on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at his residence.  He was born on August 21, 1951, in Honolulu, HI to the late Ruth and Andrew Marras, Sr.

He coached baseball at Mid-City Little League for many years and, also coached pee wee football in the city league with his sons. He was a carpenter by trade.  He had a passion for working hard and taking care of his family, extended family, and friends.

Vincent is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rueann Green Marras; one daughter, Venus Marras Lau; four sons, Vincent Marras, Jr., Vernon Marras (Carla), Eric Marras, Sr. (Sarah), and Chaz Marras, Sr. (Jami); five siblings, Mary Shoemake (Larry), Andrew Marras III, Nayton Marras (Lisa), Lance Foreman (Dee), Marcelina Atchison (Marvin); 12 grandchildren, Keynan, Kristan, Kwyntan, Harlie, Danielle, Damien, Coltin, Hayden, Hunter, Eric Jr., Bailey, and Chaz Jr.; one great grandson, River; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

Vincent was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Quinten (Geno) Foreman; one sister, Maureen Foreman Lamprecht; and 2 nephews, Andrew Marras IV, and Kaleb Lance Foreman.

A celebration of Vincent’s life will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Simple Traditions by Johnson Funeral home, 3448 5^th Ave. Lake Charles, at 3:00 PM.  Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM.
