Vinita Joy Wallace

Vinita Joy Wallace, 52, of Lake Charles died on Thursday, January 19, 2012 in a residence in Channing, TX.

Mrs. Wallace was born in Amarillo on September 14, 1959 and grew up and graduated in Abbeville in 1978. She was a restaurant cook for over 30 years as well as working at home raising her children. Mrs. Wallace's life was filled with service, whether at work or at home and also a servant of God to the end. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

She had an uplifting personality and was a dedicated mother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are a life companion and partner, Stephen "Q Ball" Broussard of Lake Charles; two sons, Jim Oliver and wife Ashley of Iota and Landen Joiner of Iota; two daughters, Jodie Ann Puente and husband Daniel of Crowley and Brandy Joiner of Crowley; mother, Ann Mathis of Channing, TX and father, Jimmie Joiner, Jr. of Lakeland, FL; four brothers, Bill Anderson and wife Tami of Washington, OK, Jerry Anderson of Moss Bluff, Christopher Joiner of Estero, FL, and Stephen Joiner of Taunton, MA; a sister, Wendy Merrel and husband Thomas of St. Petersburg, FL; four grandchildren, Chloe' D'nay and Dillon Trevor Puente, and Makenzi and Breana Oliver.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church. The Rev. Dale Nazworth will officiate. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday in the funeral home from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Monday in the church from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.

Memorial donations may be made to the family for outstanding expenses.
