Viola Mae Thibodeaux

Viola Mae Doucet Conner Thibodeaux, aged 100 years, passed away in Lake Charles, Louisiana on January 21, 2024. She was born in Bell City, Louisiana on September 4, 1923 and passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024 in Lake Charles.

She is Preceded in death by her parents: Polique ‘Poleg’ Doucet of Chatagnier, La. and Ella LaCasse Doucet of Mowata, La., as well as two husbands: Adam Conner who died in 1944 on Kwajalein Islands in WWII and Silas Thibodeaux, veteran of WWII who died in 1978.

Viola is preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Elizabeth and Betty Rose and six brothers: Burt, Joseph, Norman, Edward, James and Richard.

She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Norma Jean Nicks, Ray (Betty) Thibodeaux, David Thibodeaux, Sharon David, and stepson, Jay (Martha) Thibodeaux.

She also leaves eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and sixteen great, great grandchildren.

Viola Mae was a beautiful, strong woman. “Our mother, our mawmaw, helper, safety net; the one who always had a joke to tell, the one who remembered everything……will be missed. We love you!”

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, January 26, 2024 in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation Friday will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home. Interment services will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
