Virgil Dale Trahan

Virgil Dale Trahan, 74, of Carlyss, LA. passed away in his home with his loved ones by his side on September 24,2023. He was born on January 24, 1947, to Virgil J. and Willadell Trahan in Sulphur, LA.

Virgil was a heavy equipment operator at PPG Industries for 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, skeet shooting, and reloading shells in his free time. Virgil loved the Lord and was a member of Choupique Baptist church. He was a loving husband, father, papa, and friend.

Those left to cherish Virgil’s memory are his loving wife of 34 years, Gwen Trahan; sons, Shannon Marler (Paula), Eric Marler (Katherine), Jay Trahan, John Trahan; daughter, Joni Trahan; grandchildren, Ashley Lovejoy (Matt), Macy Baudin (Sam), Victoria Marler (Isaac), Ben Marler, Julianne Soileau (Nate), Nathanael Marler, Emma Marler, Christopher Marler, and Olivia Marler; great grandchildren Wyatt Lovejoy, Walker Lovejoy, Norah Soileau, Charlotte Baudin, Samuel “Beau” Baudin; brother Wyatt Trahan; sister Cindy Dowies.

Virgil is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Willadell Trahan; sister, Tammy Burk; great granddaughter Collins Baudin.

Services for Virgil will be held at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home on Saturday September 30, 2023, at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Sugartown Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Pastor Lonnie Gothrup. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:30 PM on Friday, September 29, 2023, and resume on Saturday at 8 AM until time of service
