Virgil Edward LeBlanc, 91 of Carlyss, passed away on April 1, 2012 in his residence. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at10 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss, LA with Father Joe Aquino officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 5-9p.m. at Robison Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until time of service. Virgil was a native of Vinton and a longtime Carlyss resident. After graduating, he served his country in the US Army-Air Corps during WWII. After his military service he worked at Union Sulphur Mines for 12 years and later retired from Firestone Synthetic Rubber as a machinist. He was a member of the IAM Machinist Local 1317 and also an active member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss, where he served as Usher, Eucharistic Minister, and Parish Council Member. Virgil was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8058 and attended Cursillo #340. Virgil is survived by his wife of 67 years, Maude LeBlanc; five sons, Randy LeBlanc and wife, Melody of Simi Valley, CA, Jerry LeBlanc and wife Sherry of Westlake, Terry LeBlanc and wife, Teresa of Sulphur, James LeBlanc and wife, Angela of Carlyss and Lyndon LeBlanc and wife, Theresa of Carlyss; daughter, Mary Jane Field and husband, Michael of Carlyss; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Care Help of Sulphur, Odyssey Hospice, or St. Theresa Building Fund.
