Virginia Mae Palumbo

January 19, 1960 — December 9, 2022

Virginia Mae Palumbo, “Ginny”

Jesus came to claim her on Dec 9, 2022. She will have a joyful reunion with her grandparents on both sides, her father, Julius and her brother Thomas.

Virginia faced many obstacles in her life, yet she kept a child like faith and attitude. She was incredibly talented; she could sew, knit, and paint. Her services were requested by all her friends, to sew clothing and make bridesmaid dresses. Her crowning knitting achievement was a multi patterned afghan, without a repeat pattern of color. She was an amazing baker of cookies, particularly thumb-print cookies which she loved baking for her friends at school. She was a graduate of Sulphur High School, class of 1978.

Virginia loved solitude, with a love for birds, which she called her pets. She was an avid cat rescuer and brought many cats into her home.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are her mother, Juanita Palumbo, brother, Victor Palumbo, and her two sisters, Carolyn (Pete) Lund and Ellen Palumbo. She leaves behind many nephews and nieces.

We would like to thank all the organizations and agencies that have cared for her during her lifetime.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. Family to welcome visitors at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church on December 16, 2022 at 12:30 – 2p.m. for visitation. The Memorial service will follow after visitation at 2p.m., officiated by Father Paul White. Inurnment for immediate family to follow in chapel.
