Virginia Ouzts Litton, 87, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Shreveport, LA.
Virginia Ouzts Litton was born on May 31, 1924 in Doyline, Louisiana to Rosser Lee Ouzts and Julia Mamie Burt Ouzts. Virginia "Tezzie" was the sixth of seven children, all of whom predeceased her. She was born, raised and educated in Doyline, LA, lived her younger years in Minden, LA and lived nearly seventy-five years in Lake Charles. She was a homemaker while her daughters were young and at the age of thirty-eight, attained a Secretarial License from Sowela Technical Institute and began working many years for Hixson Funeral Home. She then returned to Sowela where she began a twenty-five year career in their administrative offices.
Mrs. Litton's early interests were playing basketball and singing in the Minden Girls Quartet. She also enjoyed camping and fishing.
She was a devoted member of University United Methodist Church where she was a four year old Sunday school teacher for many years.
Her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as she was always involved in their activities and she was their greatest fan.
Mrs. Litton will be most remembered for her values and principles, her faith in the goodness of people and her sweet nature.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Linda Sonnier and husband Tom of Shreveport and Joan Sharpe and husband Glen of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Julie Sharpe Henry and husband Mike , Cora Sonnier, Ben Sharpe and fiance' Marcie Reed, John Sonnier and wife Michelle and Kristin Sharpe Guillory and husband David. Great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jackson, Mary Katherine and Maggie Flaherty, Ian Sonnier, Jacob, Travis and Lora Sharpe, Parrish, Tabitha and Chloe Sonnier and Kaden Sharpe, Wyatt and Abigail Guillory, Corren, Nic, and Marlee Henry two great-great grandchildren. She also leaves nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-three years, Clifton "Tabby" Litton, her parents, two sisters, Helen Fleming, Trudi Pace and four brothers Dick, John Henry, Heyward and Linwood.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Langford will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Monday will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
