Virginia Richardson Streete

Virginia Richardson Streete 88, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Thursday, January 22, 2015. Virginia was born on June 10, 1926, in Manifest, LA to Ronald and Myrtle Richardson. She graduated from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA with a degree in Dietetics. She was married to Dr. William G. Streete who preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory is one sister, Joann Routon and husband Clarence; two sons, Stephen R. Streete and wife Kelly of Lake Charles, LA, Jon G. Streete and wife Charlotte of Prairieville, LA; and two daughters, Susan Kinberger of Baton Rouge, LA, Barbara Bailey and husband Ken of Lake Charles, LA; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Virginia, known to friends as" Jim" or Mimi" to family, will be remembered as a beautiful, giving, opinionated, funny woman with a deep and unshakable faith in god. This faith shaped her belief that life was a celebration to be embraced and shared with her family and many friends. There will never be another Mimi. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, January 26, 2015 at 1st Presbyterian Church of Lake Charles. Visitation will be Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at the church Monday, January 26, 2015 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Rev. Chandler Willis will officiate services. The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care and kindness given to their beloved mother by Dr. Kenneth Ewane and the nursing staff, Unit 2 south, at Lake Area Medical Center.
