Virginia Sagona Doucet

Virginia Sagona Doucet, 82, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 in a local healthcare facility.

Mrs. Doucet was born in Lottie, LA and has lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She worked many years for WT Grant Department Store and was the Manager when they closed their doors. She enjoyed keeping house, cooking for her family and especially loved flower gardening. Mrs. Doucet will be most remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, whom took great pride in caring for her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Kenny Doucet and wife Judy of Lake Charles; one daughter, Kathy Adams and husband George of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, Duane Huff and wife Rene of Baton Rouge, Sara Connelly and husband Mark of San Diego, CA, Laura Hobgood and husband Chad of Lake Charles and Andrew Doucet and Jonathan Doucet, both of Lake Charles; four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Noah Huff and Grayson and Emmelia Hobgood and two brothers, Phillip Sagona of Zachary and Johnny Sagona and wife Carolyn of Church Point. She also leaves her devoted niece and care giver, Janice Hill and husband Vernon of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-six years, Berton Joseph Doucet; parents, Joe and Mary Vertero Sagona; four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in St. Margaret Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Scott Conner will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Monday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Tuesday will be from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
