Vivian Mhire Mayard

Vivian Alice Mhire Mayard, 81, of Lake Charles died Monday, March 7, 2011 in a local healthcare facility.

Mrs. Mayard was born and raised in Grand Chenier, was a graduate of Grand Chenier High School and lived most of her life in Grand Chenier. She has lived the past twelve years in Lake Charles. She enjoyed listening to French Music, dancing and visiting with her friends.

Mrs. Mayard was a devoted member, formerly of, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grand Chenier where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and Christ the King Catholic Church in Lake Charles.

She will be most remembered as a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Gary Mayard and wife Gloria of Lake Charles, Blayne Mayard and wife Saraphia of Lafayette and Myron Mayard and wife Ronda of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren; Chan Mayard, Tori Mayard, Jeremy Mayard, Lance Hernandez, Jill Gilbert, Hope Benoit and Morgan Darby; twelve great- grandchildren and one brother, Wendell Mhire and wife Yvonne of Grand Lake.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 55 years, Dudley Mayard; infant son, Ted Bradley Mayard and her parents, Norris and Angela Broussard Mhire.

A mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 Thursday, March 10, 2011 in Christ the King Catholic Church. Father Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation Wednesday will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:30 PM. Visitation Thursday will be from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM in the funeral home.

Mrs. Mayards' family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the Doctor's and staff of Grand Cove Rehabilitation Center for their excellence in care and compassion.
