Walter "W.D." White, age 75, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010, at a local hospital.
A resident of Lake Charles, he was a native of Hackberry. He was a Navy veteran. Mr. White had retired from Baker Service Tools. He was presently employed by Tri-Point, LLC. He loved fishing and deer hunting. In his younger years, he was a big supporter of South Lake Charles Little League. Throughout his life, he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren playing softball and baseball. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Dinah White of Lake Charles; five children, John White of Hackberry, Darryl White and life partner, Michael Lenard of St. Louis, MI, Rachelle Monceaux and husband, Ricky of Lake Charles, Peter White of Dallas, TX, and Jason White of Lake Charles; and eight grandchildren, Amanda Self, Sarah Clement, John Eric White, Joseph White, Jorey White, Ryan Monceaux, Rebecca Monceaux, and Jacob White.
His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Hackberry. Father Rommel Tolentino will officiate. Burial will follow in New Hackberry Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The visitation will be held at the church hall only beginning on Monday, August 23, from 1 p.m., remaining open all night, until the time of service on Tuesday. A rosary will be prayed Monday evening 6:30 p.m.
