Walterine McCoy Hoffpauir, 86, was called to her Heavenly home on Monday, April 4, 2016.
Born in Crowley, Louisiana to Harry and Odeal McCoy, Mrs. Hoffpauir was raised in Estherwood. She lived most of her life in Lake Charles, working for ten years as an operator for South Central Bell, until her children arrived, and then she focused her total attention on raising them. Mrs. Hoffpauir was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Lake Charles, where she freely shared her gift of playing the piano with her Sunday School class. Mrs. Hoffpauir devoted her life to her family; her greatest joy was taking care of them. She loved her Heavenly Father and never missed an opportunity to tell others about Jesus.
Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted children, Larry Hoffpauir and wife Cindy of Lake Charles and Donna Hoffpauir Hudspeth and husband Mike of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; five beloved grandchildren, Lindsey Comeaux and husband Evan, Chelsey Kyle and husband Josey, Haley Jones and husband Heath, Hayden Hudspeth, and Harrison Hudspeth; and three great grandchildren, Charlie and Levi Kyle and Brody Comeaux.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband fifty-three years, Lawrence Edward Hoffpauir, Jr. and her parents.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. J. P. Miles will officiate. Interment will be at Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m.
