Wanda "Ducky" Prather

Wanda “Ducky” Prather, 95, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 24th, 2023, in the comfort of her home. She was born on August 7th, 1927, in Port Arthur, Texas to Eugene and May Broussard.

“Ducky” as she was known, loved reading her Bible and spending quiet time with The Lord, as she would sit in her rocking chair outside on the porch enjoying the beauty all around her. She had many hobbies that she enjoyed, crabbing, fishing, taking pictures and sharing the beauty she captured through her camera lens, and the most important was spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish and carry on her legacy are her daughters, Kim Prather and Jolene P. Croft; grandchildren, Laci Brice (Mitch), Lynsi Chandler (Chris), Randa Flowers (Tommy); great-grandchildren, Trenton and Ty Brice, MadyJo and Makyna Chandler, Kayla Corbin (Cameron), Kyle and Collin Flowers; great-great granddaughter, Chandler Corbin and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Rev. Joe Prather, son; Bruce Prather, parents; Eugene and Mae Broussard, son-in-law; Randy Croft, three sisters; Rosa Lee Newsome, Joyce Kinchen, and Wilda Mae Collier, and one brother; Gene Broussard.

Funeral services for Wanda “Ducky” Prather will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, January 28th, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Sulphur, La., under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and family Saturday, January 28th, 2023, at 11 AM till the time of service.
