Wanda Jones Matte

Wanda Jones Matte, 74, of Lake Charles passed away December 31, 2011 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Matte was a native of Rosepine, LA and has lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a member of Apostolic Temple. Mrs. Matte will be most remembered for her love and devotion to her husband, her children and grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Rex Anthony Matte and wife Donna of Lake Charles, Bryan Matte of Lake Charles and Kenneth Matte and wife Sheryl of Ragley; daughter, Karen Milton and husband Paul of Mobile, AL; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Woodrow Jones and Donald Ray Jones, both of DeRidder and James "Jim" Jones of Rosepine; one sister, Dorothy Barr of DeRidder and one half-sister, Verlie Watson of Leesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Joseph H. Matte; son, Kevin "P-Nut" Matte; daughter-in-law, Sue Forrest Matte; her parents and nine siblings.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, January 2, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ricky Treece will officiate. Interment will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation Monday will be from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM in the funeral home.
