Wanda Lee Harvey Stephens

December 23, 1957 — May 13, 2020

Wanda Lee (Harvey) Stephens was born Dec. 23, 1957, in Anahuac, Texas, the fifth child of Undine and C.W. Harvey.

She passed away peacefully May 13, 2020, in Moss Bluff, surrounded by family.

Wanda married the love of her life, Ron Stephens, on Jan. 9, 1981, and they shared a lifelong joy for playing golf, fishing, watching LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints football, and feeding the family. They considered their barbecues and crawfish boils to be a matter of pride. They were gracious hosts and servants to all who entered their home, and it was a rare occasion when someone left their home hungry.

She rejoins in Heaven her husband and her parents. She also was preceded in death by her brother Caroll Harvey, her stepdaughter Sheila Breaux, and three grandchildren, Casey Marie Magness, Autumn Elaine Basham, and Alex Lamar Basham.

Left to cherish the memories of Wanda are her brother, Robbin Harvey; sisters, Jeanette “Snooks” Hebert and Patricia Gillis; daughters, DeShelle Canter and husband Byron, and Alexis Coleman and husband Sean; stepdaughter Wendy Magness and husband John, and stepson, Terry Basham and wife Christina. One of the great joys of Wanda’s life was her grandchildren: Christopher and Jamie Fruge; Jason, Tasha, Shawna, Devon and Jacob Breaux; Timothy, Derian and Braden Magness; Sierra, Gabriel, Abigail and Michael Basham; Jacie Tarver; Shelbee LeJeune and Berlynn Coleman, and Mia and Demi Canter, and great-grandchildren, Taryn and Matison Langston, Jackson Magness, and numerous cousins.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate.  Visitation Tuesday will be from 10:00 AM until 12:30 AM in the funeral home.
