Wanda Mae Mosley

December 19, 1939 — August 24, 2011

Wanda Mae Mosley, 71 of Lake Charles went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ Wednesday, August 24th, 2011. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.


She was born in Harlingen, Texas but has called Louisiana her home since 1957. She

Was a 1980 graduate of McNeese State University earning a BS degree in the college of Nursing, graduating Cum Laude. She has also served as a member of the honor society PHI KAPPA PHI.


Wanda was employed at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital working in the surgery unit for 19 years before retiring. She was also a member of Ruth Chapter #16, Order of Eastern Star holding various offices including Worthy Matron during the year 1988.


She was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church and enjoyed doing volunteer work within the church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and beading, but her biggest joy came from her four grandchildren. She loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events and recitals and being their biggest cheerleader.


She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 49 years, Guy J. Mosley of Lake Charles; two daughters Page Lynn Trahan and husband Ricky of Lake Charles and Jill Ann Conner and husband David, of Grand Lake; four grandchildren; Calley Alyse Conner, Alexa Raye Conner, Holland Guy Conner and Allyson Mae Trahan; eight nieces and nephews and two great nieces and one great nephew. Niece Lauri Weske and nephew Billy Martin held a special place in her heart.


She was preceded in death by her parents, John M. and Lillie Maye Martin and brothers Johnny and Bill Martin.


Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 27th in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Wayne LeBleu will officiate and scriptures will be read by Lauri Weske. Interment services will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Friday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with an Eastern Star Service beginning at 7pm. Visitation Saturday will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Trahan, David Conner, Holland Conner, Billy Martin, Bill Weske and Irvin Carbalan.


The family would like to thank Dr, Michael Bergeron, and his staff and those working the chemo bay at LCMH. Through your kindness, you were able to make a difficult situation a little less painful. In addition, the family would like to thank the staff at Odyssey Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
