Wanda Pitre Quave, 72, of Houston, TX passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 in the comfort of her daughter’s home.
Mrs. Quave was a native of and lived most of her life in Kinder, LA and the past twenty-one years in Houston, TX. She was a graduate of Kinder High School and Demon’s School of Beauty. She worked her younger years as a hairdresser. Her passion was “babies”, retiring after over twenty years with Kompany Kids Child Development Center in Houston. She enjoyed reading her Bible, HGTV (gardening) and a variety of arts & crafts. She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Houston. Mrs. Quave will be most remembered for her love and devotion to her family and as an admirable woman of strength.
She leaves to cherish her memory, nine children, Patrick L. Johnson (Cindy) of Westlake, Finest Joseph Pitre Johnson (Mary) of Ragley, Gilbert Isaac Manuel (Debbie) of Sulphur, Danielle Estelle Manuel of Houston, Ronald Kyle Johnson (Valeria) of Baytown, TX, Merle Quave of Cypress, TX, Ron Quave of Lakeside, CA, Susan Quave (Melissa) of Houston, TX, Cheryl Toner (J.P.) of Herndon, VA and Lara Kivela (Carl) of Ingleside, TX; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one brother, Howard Pitre (Thelma) of Mauriceville, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ronald A. Johnson and Eric Quave; daughter, Angelina Saenz; daughter-in-law, Yvette Quave and parents, Finest Joseph Pitre and Estelle Ortego Pitre.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Sunday, May 28, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Saturday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation Sunday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
