Warren William Lemoine, Jr., 94, died Monday, October 18, 2010 in the comfort of his home. Mr. Lemoine was born in Lake Charles on July 20, 1916. He was a graduate of Lake Charles High School and Louisiana State University, and retired from Cities Service after 32 years of service.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, achieving the rank of captain, and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.
Mr. Lemoine was devoted to his family and friends, and was an avid golfer and fisherman. His enjoyment of life and his sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather a builder of swings and singer of songs.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Iris Lorraine Dever Lemoine; his parents, Warren William Lemoine, Sr. and Marie Louise Gremillion Lemoine; his brothers, Ben Lemoine and Robert Lemoine; and his sister Marjorie Lemoine Selby.
He is survived by his son, Jim Lemoine and wife Shelia of Houston; his daughters, Libby Lea of Lake Charles and Patricia McQuinn of Dallas; eight grandchildren, Eric Lemoine, Brad Lemoine, Abby Kawas and husband Eddy, Claire Lea and husband Mike Gemkow, Paul Lea, Elaine Lea, Katy McQuinn and husband John Mermin, and John McQuinn; and great-granddaughters Iris Kawas and Aspen Shiro.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, October 22, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Harry Greig will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Thursday will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a scripture service beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue Friday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
