Wayne Hadley Butch Hay

July 20, 1942 — January 26, 2011

Wayne Hadley "Butch" Hay, 68, of Missouri City, TX entered into eternal peace Wednesday, January 26, 2011 surrounded by his family.


Mr. Hay was born in Conroe, TX, raised and educated in the Lake Arthur and Lake Charles areas and was a graduate of Lake Arthur High School. He proudly served the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 404 in Missouri, City, TX. Having retired from L-CON Engineering, Mr. Hay followed his career as an Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry which led him all over the world. He was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church of Sugar Land, TX.


He will be most remembered as a great story teller and friend.

Mr. Hay was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. His greatest times were those he shared with his family.


He leaves to honor his memory, his wife of 47 years, Jeanette Marie Hay of Missouri City, TX; four daughters, Sharla Baldovino of Houston, Shelly Burke and husband A.J. of Richmond, TX, Shonda Wedgeworth and husband Michael of Missouri City, TX and Sara Hay of Sugar Land, TX; six grandchildren, Monet Hay, Adrian Baldovino, Hadley Burke, Grace Burke, Alexandre Wedgeworth and Sophie Wedgeworth; two great- grandchildren, Gabriel Alba and Ava Jones; six brothers and three sisters.


He was preceded in death by his son, Fred Wayne Hay; parents, Hadley and Pearl Hay and a brother, Ricky Hay.


Funeral services will be at 12:30 PM Saturday, January 29, 2011 in St. Margaret Catholic Church. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Interment will follow in Hebert Cemetery in Hecker, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation Friday will be from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a scripture service and rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM in the funeral home.
