Wayne James Trouard

January 7, 1946 — November 8, 2010

Wayne James Trouard, 64, of Moss Bluff entered into his eternal life on Monday, November 8, 2010 at his home surrounded by family and friends.


Mr. Trouard was born on January 7, 1946 in Lake Charles, LA where he was a life long resident. Mr. Trouard was retired from Basell in 1999 after 30 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge.


He was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church where he served as an usher as well as a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner. He was an avid golfer and his passion was to travel with his wife Jo and their grandchildren.


Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Jo (Fish) Trouard of Moss Bluff; two sons, Stephen and wife Jenny Robinson Trouard of Jackson, MS and Paul and wife Claire Ethridge Trouard of Lafayette, LA; three grandchildren, Lizzie Trouard, and Grace and Ian Trouard; a brother, Earl Bodin and wife Darnell of Westlake; a brother-in-law, John Fish of Lake Charles, LA; a nephew, Bill Bodin and wife Lana of Moss Bluff; a niece, Felicia McFarlain and husband Byron of Westlake; great nieces and nephews, Kyle, Candace, Kristie, and Cami Bodin, and Haley McFarlain; and longtime friend, Lynda Keeton of Moss Bluff.


A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, November 11, 2010 in St. Theodore Catholic Church. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will be in the new Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff. Visitation will be in Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of services.


He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Trouard Bodin; and his grandparents, Jimmy and Louise Trouard.


Pallbearers will be: Todd Truax, Hall Jones, Tim and Scott Harmon, Byron McFarlain, and Bill Bodin. Honorary pallbearers will be: Ron Harmon, Tom Burton, Kenneth Rion, David Stewart, Larry Perkins, and Fred Gary.
