Shelby Wayne Newcomer, 66, of Sulphur, LA passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 in a local hospital. Wayne, as he is known by family and friends, was the son of Sarah Newcomer and the late Charles W. Newcomer, Sr. A graduate of LaGrange High School, he worked as a Project Supervisor for multiple companies in the Industrial Construction Industry. His projects, took him throughout the United States and Canada. He also worked in the Middle East supervising the building of a power plant in Turkey. Through the course of his travels and his devotion to help others, he created a countless circle of friends of multiple cultures internationally. Prior to his stroke, Wayne enjoyed hunting and especially loved to help people and the handicapped. He leaves to honor his memory, his mother, Sarah Carlisle Newcomer, brother, C.W. Newcomer, Jr. and wife Jackie and Glen Newcomer, all of Sulphur; one sister, Sharon Newcomer Semmes and husband Charles of Deer Park, TX; two nieces Candice Newcomer Fontenot and Kristen Semmes and two nephews, Todd Newcomer and Scott Semmes. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in the Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Eddie Carpenter will officiate with Reverend Jon Crum to assist. Interment will follow in Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Mittie, LA. Visitation Monday will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
