Wendell Henry Tower, 92 passed away on June 14, 2014. He was born in Evangeline, LA on June 6, 1922 and lived in Carlyss for the past 18 years. Wendell served his country in the US Army during WWII, and was awarded the Bronze medal for his service. He worked for local #106 as a pipefitter for 40 years, was a member of Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in Sulphur, and loved gardening, woodworking and iron works. Wendell is survived by his wife, Julia Areno Tower of Carlyss; son, Wendell H. Tower, Jr. and wife, Rose White Tower of Lake Charles; 2 daughters, Myrtle Tower Warden and husband, Milton Warden of DeRidder, La and Carla Tower Doucet and husband, C.A. Doucet of Carlyss; 5 grandchildren, Wendy Doucet Rogers, Craig Doucet, Joey Tower, Julia Jones Kennedy and B J Warden; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his great grandson, Alexander Gage Tower and parents, Adelbert and Bernice Tower. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 5-9 p.m.at the funeral home and will resume on Tuesday at the funeral home at 9 a.m. until time of the service.
