Wendy Joann Thames

Wendy Joann Thames, 62, of Bundick Lake, LA, died on Friday, January 14, 2011 in a local hospital.

Ms. Thames was born August 12, 1948 in Everett, MA and lived in Lake Charles for most of her life. She worked as a hairdresser for over forty years and most recently worked at Jolie Femme and L' Sundries at L' Auberge du Lac since their opening. She loved painting, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her joyous laughter and her love for Jesus.

Ms. Thames is survived by her daughters, Phoebe Qualls and husband Phil of Sulphur, LA and Tiffaney Maggio and husband Sammy Maggio, III of Moss Bluff, LA; brothers, Brian Hamilton and wife Becky of Lake Charles and Bruce Hamilton and wife Joni of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Hunter Qualls, Seth Maggio, Carter Qualls, Sarah Maggio, and Sadie Qualls; and lifelong friend, Inci Glover of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Chester and Barbara Barton Hamilton.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 17, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Rick McClain will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
