Wendy Reed

Wendy Reed , born February 11th 1955 in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed onto the next world peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones on December first 2016.  She is survived by her husband Robert “ Bob” Reed whom she married on November 3rd 1984, her son Justin Caillouet, daughter Carilee Hoffpauir, her grand children Madison, Mason, Kaden, Brett, Cage, and Keely, and her sister Dale Reed.  Her family, however, extended far beyond the reach of blood.  Wendy loved and was loved by the people she encountered throughout her life; from her schoolmates at Holy Angels Academy (class of ’73) and the University of New Orleans to her coworkers at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital and everywhere in between. She consistently saw the best in others, and strove to help them see it too.  She loved to push the ones she loved to be better, whether that be through school, health, or relationships.  She taught those around her lessons of humility, love, forgiveness, and compassion.  She showed others that unconditional love was real and that it is often those who have the least that give the most.  She loved music, a love that she gained by her father’s side.  She was a deeply religious woman who found peace in knowing that a higher power guides us in life.  She loved her children, but her grandchildren were her whole world. Mostly, she was an amazing woman that sought to learn, love, and laugh; a woman who made all around her, thankful for having had the opportunity to meet her. 

 A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 7 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 4 P.M. with a rosary at 6:30 P.M. and the service following.
