Wendy Renee Williams Burleigh, 34, born September 10, 1981 passed November 8, 2015 in her home surrounded by her family. Wendy was a 1999 graduate of Sulphur High School where she was Salutatorian of her class and was a member of the volleyball and softball teams where she earned All District and All State and Academic All State honors as well as the Sallye Jean Toniette award for excellence in academics and athletics and the Wendy's Heisman Trophy award. She attended LSU her freshman and sophomore years and graduated from McNeese in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in graphic design. Wendy was employed by the Cameron Parish School Board since 2008 and was presently a teacher at Johnson Bayou High School. Wendy loved spending time with her children, family and friends and fostering stray animals. She enjoyed music, art and LSU football. Wendy is survived by her loving parents, Glenn and Renee Williams; her children, Olivia Claire Burleigh and Pierce Allen Bertram; her brother, Jason Williams and his wife Heather; maternal grandparents, Al and Brenda Robinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Wendy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Frank and Glenda Williams; and maternal grandparents, Loretta Guidry Robinson and Glenn Hinkle. Services for Wendy will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 11 am at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Father Gijo Ikkaramattom, M.S. officiating. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines North. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 4-8 pm and will resume on Wednesday from 8 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a church or charity of your choice.
