Westley Phillip Widcamp

Westley Phillip Widcamp, 48, of Westlake, LA, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017, in his residence. Westley was born in Sulphur, LA, on October 28, 1968 to Thomas and Phyllis Nassar Widcamp.

 

Westley was a life-long resident of Westlake where he was a 1987 graduate of Westlake High School. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army. Westley was a loyal fan of the LA Dodgers, the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers. He enjoyed sitting outside, enjoying the sun and listening to country music, especially George Strait. Westley also enjoyed hunting and fishing as a young man. Even though he had no children of his own, he loved his nephews and nieces as though they were his.

 

Westley is proceeded in death by his father, Thomas N. Widcamp and his brother Thomas E. Widcamp. He is also proceeded by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Phyllis Nassar Widcamp, his brother, Aaron (Heather) Widcamp, his sister, Brittny Widcamp and his sister-in-law, Melissa Daigle Widcamp. He also leaves his nephews and nieces, Ryan (Adrienne) Widcamp, Blake, Alesha, Austin, Caleb, Kelcie and Julie Widcamp.

 

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday, August 17, 2017, from 5-9PM. A Rosary will be recited at 7PM. Visitation will continue on Friday, August 18, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake, LA beginning at 8AM. A funeral mass will be held at 10AM in the church officiated by Father Edward Brunnert and assisted by Deacon Jesse Menard and Deacon Fred Reed. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
