Wilbur Biven, 93, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 2:50 PM in his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born October 9, 1919 in Anacoco, Louisiana to Thomas and Pansy Biven. Mr. Biven was known for his ability to fix anything and was often called Mr. Fix- It. He enjoyed gardening and collecting clocks. He was a faithful member of Sale Street Baptist Church and Campers on a Mission. Mr. Biven served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Biven is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ruth Yvonne Biven; two sons, Donald Bruce Biven and wife Linda of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi and Stuart Thomas Biven and wife Janet of Lake Charles; one daughter, Ruth Yvonne Manual and husband John of Lake Charles; a brother, Thomas Wesley Biven, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Lake Charles; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sammie Nell Bertrand.
Memorial donations may be made to Sale Street Baptist Church, 1611 West Sale Road, Lake Charles, LA 70605.
Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2012 at 10 AM at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3PM in the chapel. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Rev. Randy Edwards will officiate.
