Wilford "T-Joe" Miller, 84, of Creole, LA died at 7:32 AM on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in his residence. Mr. Miller was born on September 8, 1929 in Creole, LA where he resided all of his life. He attended Creole High School where he was active on the boxing team. He was a self motivated man who held many jobs throughout his life. In his earlier years he worked for the state as a ferry operator on the Intercoastal Canal before becoming employed at Menhaden Plant. Throughout his working career he was also a shrimper, fur trapper, alligator hunter, and a farmer. He was very proud of his most recent job at South Cameron Memorial Hospital as a custodian. Mr. Miller was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mr. Miller enjoyed life to the fullest and will be remembered for always having a smile on his face. He was a huge fan of wrestling and was also a dedicated viewer of "Swamp People." Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 65 years, Edith LeBoeuf Miller; daughters, Elaine Thompson and Pat Saltzman and husband Seabob of Cameron; adopted son, Keith Rohrs of Westlake; granddaughter, Dori Taylor of Kinder; step granddaughter, Kim LeBlanc and Steph of White Castle; step grandson, Robert (Bubba) Doxey and wife Danielle of Cameron; great granddaughter, Destiny Gaspard of Cameron; step great granddaughter, Carlee Doxey of Cameron; step great grandson, Jacob Hymel of White Castle; a brother, Joseph Miller and wife Elena of Lake Charles; sisters, Evelyn Godfrey of Lake Charles, Susie Dyson of Delcambre and Mary Guidry and husband Urick of Hayes; and numerous nieces and nephews and great and great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philbert and Natalie Duhon Miller; a brother, Paul Wesley Miller; a sister, Dorothy LeBoeuf; and an infant sister. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole. The Rev. Tim Goodley will officiate. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held in the church hall beginning on Monday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue in the hall on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the services in the church.
