Willaim Bill Roberts

William Bill Riley Roberts, 89, of Lake Charles died at 3:05 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2012 in a local care facility with his loving family at his side.

Bill was born in Wisner, Louisiana to the parents of Myrtis and Spencer Roberts on April 3, 1922. He worked as a Iron Worker for over 40 years. . He served in the United States Army during WWII. Bill was a member of Living Way Pentecostal Church in Lake Charles for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Jean Roberts of Lake Charles, LA, one son William Ernest Roberts of Wisner, LA, two daughters: Carrie Lee Rice of Baton Rouge, LA, and Sherri Price of Lake Charles, three brothers: Lawrence Roberts, Lloyd Roberts and Sam Roberts all of Wisner, LA, five grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Myrtis and Spencer Roberts and three brothers Jessie Otis and T.G. Roberts.

His funeral was held on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 6:00 PM at Living Way Pentecostal Church. Rev. Charles Nugent, Glen Massey, and Lance Stockman officiated. Burial will be in Holly Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Wisner, LA on Monday at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin on Monday at 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the First Pentecostal Church in Wisner, LA.
