Willard Leroy Boykin, Jr.

Willard Leroy Boykin, Jr., 70, of Sulphur, LA died at 9:20 AM on Sunday, December 25, 2011 in his residence.

Mr. Boykin was born July 12, 1941 in Holly Ridge, LA and has lived in Sulphur, LA for most of his life. He was a graduate of Sulphur High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Bridgestone / Firestone as a mechanic after thirty-five years of service.

Mr. Boykin is survived by his son, Richard Boykin and wife Tina of Sulphur; grandchildren, Steffanie Boykin, Shannakay Watson, Royce Mann, and R. Dedan Boykin; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jean Heffernan Boykin; parents, Willard and Mattie Boykin; brother, Ernest Boykin; and grandson, Forrest Boykin.

His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Sulphur, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
