William Adam Brown

December 1, 1935 — September 25, 2015

Mr. William A. (Billy) Brown December 1, 1935 - September 25, 2015 Billy Brown was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He graduated from Lake Charles High, where he was a drum major. He went on to McNeese where he received his bachelor degree in Registered Nursing. Billy was the second male RN to graduate from McNeese. He then went to St. Francis school of Anesthesia in Peoria, Illinois and then to Charlotte, NC where he obtained his CRNA certificate. He practiced for 33 years working at Lake Charles Memorial, St. Patrick's, and the VA Hospital in Pineville. He loved older people and worked at Green Acres Nursing Facility for six years. Billy was a very religious man of Catholic faith and attended Immaculate Conception Church. He was a loving person and has helped many people in need. He never met a stranger. He was just a sweet soul. Billy never had children of his own, but his sister Theresa Brown-Guillory had seven, and we were all treated like his children. He was always there for us no matter what. A special thanks is given to John Gilland due to his total care especially after Billy lost his eye sight. He is such a dedicated, caring, person. Survivors include his sister Theresa Brown-Guillory, John Gilland, nephew, seven other nieces and nephews, one great nephew, two great nieces, one great- great nephew, and one great-great niece. Rosary services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday September 28, 2015 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Visitation Monday will be from 1:00 PM until the start of the service at the church. Interment will be in Hebert Cemetery in Hecker at a later date. The family requests that donations be made to The American Foundation for the blind in lieu of flowers.
