William B. Buehler

William Bernard Buehler passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 1, 2014 Bill was born on October 24, 1924 to Henry and Martha (Gosling) Buehler in Napa, CA. He was a graduate of Napa High School and attended University of California at Berkeley. He worked with his father in the family business for many years. After the business was sold, Bill went on to a successful career in the brokerage business. On June 29, 1947 he married Nora Lee Manasse. They recently celebrated 67 years of marriage. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a member of Shriners North America. Bill was a perfectionist in all that he did. His favorite hobbies were working in his yard, following the stock market, and enjoying a cocktail on his porch while listening to jazz. Bill is survived by his wife, Nora Lee of Lake Charles; his daughter, Blair and husband Bill Holleman of Lake Charles; grandson, Robert Buehler of Angwin, CA; grandson, Christopher Holleman of San Antonio, TX; great-grandson, Jackson Holleman of San Antonio, TX; nephew, Bert Buehler of Seguin, TX; niece, Lisa Redding of San Francisco, CA; and many cousins. Mr. Buehler will be cremated and his ashes returned to his hometown of Napa for a private burial at Monticello Cemetery. At his own request, no services will be held. The family requests memorial donations be made to Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School, South Campus Fund, 803 North Division Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601, 337-433-5264, www.episcopaldayschool.org
