William "Bill" Burke

William “Bill” Burke, 76, of Lake Charles passed away at 11:38 PM on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 in the comfort of his home.

Bill was born on June 10, 1945 in Chicago, IL and moved to Lake Charles more than 21 years ago.  He had a forty-year career in retail management for F.W. Woolworth and Michael’s Arts and Crafts, which led him to reside in numerous cities and states.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing golf in his spare time.  Bill took pleasure in working in his yard.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 35 years, Rhonda Burke of Lake Charles; children, Billy Burke (Peggy) of Dallas, TX, Martin Burke of Austin, TX, and Tony Wright of Ange, LA; a special granddaughter that he proudly raised from an infant, Trinity Grace Candelaria of Lake Charles; a sister, Carolyn; five additional grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Jane and William Burke; brother, Jack Burke; and mother of  his children, Susan.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
