William "Bill" Harper Ferguson, Sr.

William “Bill” Harper Ferguson, Sr. passed away July 6, 2022.

He was a native of New Orleans and graduated from De La Salle High School. He went on to graduate from The University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette in 1973. He worked as a special agent for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service for over thirty-five years.

He married his wife Debbie in 1981, and together, they raised their five beautiful children in Lake Charles. He was a man of deep faith and integrity. He attended Daily Mass regularly and attended Cursillo in Memphis, TN. He loved spending time with his children and bragged on them every chance he got. He loved telling stories, gardening, and bird watching. He also enjoyed playing with his JJ.

Those left cherish his memory are his loving wife Debbie of forty-one years. His four sons; Billy (Sarah) of Houston, TX, Ben of Houston, TX, Matthew (Lindsay) of Lake Charles, and Greg (Summer) of Houston, TX, and his daughter Megan of Lake Charles. He is also survived by two brothers, Ben of Freeport, FL and Frank of Slidell, LA.

He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. and Mrs. Benjamin W. Ferguson, his sister Anne and his brother Barry.

Family to welcome friends at Johnson Funeral Home, Friday, July 8, 2022 from 4pm to 8pm, with a Rosary to be prayed at 6pm. Visitation to resume Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 8:30am to 9:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial led by Father Tony Fontenot will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church beginning at 10am. He will be laid to rest at Consolata Cemetery on Monday, July 11, 2022
