William Carpenter McElfresh, 81, of Lake Charles died Friday February 6, 2015 at a local hospital after an extended illness. Mr. McElfresh was a native of Chesterfield, Ohio and settled in the Lake area after a 22 year career in the United States Navy. He worked as a welder for many years. Preceding him in death are his parents, John D. and Ione Carpenter McElfresh, his wife, Joretta Samples McElfresh; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and E.J. Swire. Those left to honor his memory are his son, Steven McElfresh and wife Rebecca; grandchildren, Blake McElfresh, Cody Swire and Joseph Swire; three great grandchildren; sister, Mary Sibert; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
