William Chetney “Chet” Baronet was born in Crowley, LA on October 1, 1975 to William Mark and Beverly Christine Baronet.
He attended Sam Houston High School and graduated from Parkview Baptist School. Music was a lifelong passion, his interests in it grew as he did. In his younger years he was a bass player, playing with several local bands and hitting the road for many out-of-town gigs.
His lively spirit was shared with those he cared most for, he was best known for his giving, kind, yet humble character. As a father, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family, patiently teaching them his trade, and how to perfectly strum the guitar to some of his favorite artists; Hank Williams, George Jones, Johnny Cash, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. He never let his love of childhood go, when he wasn’t working, you’d find him with his kids, fishing, playing badminton, or seeing who could double bounce the highest on the trampoline.
He was not only talented in song, but also as a Luthier, his passion for guitar building came from seeing a guitar made from a simple cigar box. He founded Baronet Guitar Company, taking pride in the guitars he built; from picking that perfect tree to harvest, to each step taken to procure the perfect sound resonating as it was strummed. From the bridge pins, to each fret, or tuning peg found on the headstock, he was precise, all of the guitar necks were carved by his hand.
He was welcomed into Heaven on August 2, 2021 by; his paternal grandfather, his hero, Wilson J. Baronet and his maternal grandparents, John E and Beverly Marie Earle.
