William Dennis Lavergne Jr.

1934 - 2021 William D. Lavergne, 87, of Lake Charles (Moss Bluff), Louisiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at his daughter’s residence in Moss Bluff, Louisiana. He was born June 25, 1934 in Church Point, Louisiana. The son of William D. Lavergne, Sr and Louisa (Beverly) Lavergne. William graduated J S Clark High School, Class of 1957. William was an Honorary Life Member of the Lake Charles, Louisiana 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly #320 and the 3rd Degree Grand Knights of Columbus Council #3622; and a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Father Pierre Council #40 of Opelousas, Louisiana. He served on the St. Theodore Catholic Church Usher Board and the Calcasieu Parish Drainage Department as a Board Member. William was a retiree of PPG Industries in 1998 after 35 years of service as a Machinist.

Precious memories of William are left to his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Sylvia Ann (Thibodeaux) Lavergne; children, Kenneth Lavergne, Tanya L. Oliver (Elijah); Wendell Lavergne; Michelle L. Hagerich; Bridgette L. Jenkins (Barry); Grandchildren, Kerry, Kelly, Kristopher, Kristian, Noah, Kylian, Katelynn, Khloe, Bayleigh, Blaize; Great Grandchildren, Aubrey, Avery, Layla Grace, Charlotte, Savannah, Landen, Kyndel; siblings, Emma Lois L. Roberts, Ollie Lavergne and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Walter, Wilson and Martin; two sisters, Gloria Mae and Mary Ann; and one grandson, Kurt.

On Saturday, November 13, there will be a 10AM - 12:30PM Visitation with an 11AM Rosary led by the Grand Knights of Columbus Council #3622 at Johnson’s Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, Louisiana located at 2171 N. Hwy 171 in Lake Charles (Moss Bluff), Louisiana 70611. The Burial Mass will be at 1PM at St. Theodore Catholic Church located at 785 Sam Houston Jones Pkwy, Lake Charles (Moss Bluff). He will be entombed at Sacred Heart Cemetery and Mausoleum in Lake Charles.
