William E. "Bill" Rhorer, Jr., 70, of Lake Charles died on Saturday, January 31, 2015 in his residence. Mr. Rhorer was born on January 10, 1945 in Lake Charles where he was a life time resident other than spending seven years working in Midland, TX. He was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School and McNeese State University. Mr. Rhorer served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He worked in the oilfield industry for many years, retiring from Northrop-Grumman. He enjoyed nature and being outdoors. Mr. Rhorer was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved watching NASCAR. He was a collector of knives and guns. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Phyllis "Sue" Rhorer of Lake Charles; two sons, William E. Rhorer, III and wife Tiffany of Singer, LA and Grady White of Dekalb, TX; a step daughter, Donna Leonard and husband Mark of Midland, TX; two sisters, Gwen Stewart and Liz Bourgeois and husband Joey all of Lake Charles; and his grandchildren, the apples of his eyes, Kaleb and Colby Rhorer, Blake Lynn and Kobbie Berry, and Kelsey Leigh and Justin Grady White; two step grandchildren, Amanda Dawn Dorsey and husband Cody and Aaron Paul Leonard; and two step great grandchildren, Colter and Cooper Dorsey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wanda and William E. Rhorer, Sr. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Charlie Langford will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
