William Emile Krebs, 90, of Lake Charles, LA died at 9:45 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in a local hospital. Mr. Krebs was born February 7, 1924 in Bogalusa, LA, where he was a graduate of Bogalusa High School and attended Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA. He served four years in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II and served a number of years in the Louisiana National Guard. Mr. Krebs worked over twenty years at Petroleum Helicopters in Lafayette and ten years for Heliflight Systems and an independent contractor. After retirement, he enjoyed working for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Department as a school crossing guard at S. J. Welsh and College Oaks. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and the American Legion. Mr. Krebs was also an active member of AA and enjoyed forty-three years of sobriety. He was very friendly, outgoing and enjoyed being around people. He also enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed working on lawnmowers for his neighbors and friends. Mr. Krebs is survived by his daughters, Debbie Mayhan and husband Jim of Houston, TX and Stephanie Tommasi and husband Steve of Lake Charles; grandchildren, James Mayhan of San Marcos, TX, Ari Tommasi, Savanna Tommasi, Cass Tommasi, and Kaleb Tommasi, all of Lake Charles; siblings, Juanita Fralick of Lake Charles, Mary McDuff and husband Buddy of Fairhope, AL, Joe Krebs and wife Elizabeth of Bogalusa, LA; Patricia LeLeaux of Crowley, LA, Agnes Armentor of Lake Charles, and Richard Krebs and wife Sue of Bogalusa, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Robinson Krebs; infant son, Michael Krebs; and parents, Emile and Elizabeth Krebs. Military Rites will be at 6:15 PM on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to follow. A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A private inurnment will be at a later date at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington, LA.
