William Lyle "Coonass" Talbott, Sr.

William Lyle “Coonass” Talbott, Sr., 70, of Lacassine, LA, died at 12:02 AM on Saturday, February 27, 2016 in a local hospital.
Mr. Talbott was born April 16, 1945 in lake Charles, LA and has lived in Lacassine for the past thirty-three years. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #106 and a worked for CITGO Refinery. Mr. Talbott enjoyed gardening and was a hay farmer. He loved antiques and was a NASCAR enthusiast. He loved everything racing and was a dirt track racer. His true passion in life was for his family. He will always be remembered for his outgoing personality and was full of life.
Mr. Talbott is survived by his wife, Carol Talbott; daughters, Roxann Talbott of Lake Charles, Gena Talbott of Lafayette, LA, and April Talbott of Lake Charles; sons, Delwin Talbott, Sr. and wife Jessica of Moss Bluff and Aaron Talbott and wife Tracey of Iowa, LA; daughter-in-law, Roxanne Talbott of Lake Charles; step-children, Denice Boudreaux and husband Louis of Sulphur, Nancy Burnthorne and husband Greg of Covington, LA and Patricia Horvaph and husband Richard of Moss Bluff; mother, Mary Ann Talbott of Moss Bluff; siblings, Karlene Morris Warren and husband Ray of Many, LA and Rudy Talbott of Lake Charles; mother of his children, Jennifer Hawk of Lacassine; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was PapPap to twenty-one grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Lyle Talbott, Jr.; father, Virgil William Talbott; brother, Jody Talbott; and grandchildren, Dustin and Virgil Talbott.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Pat Deshotel will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Iowa, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
Pallbearers for the service are Aaron Talbott, Delwin Talbott, Nathan Talbott, Nolan Talbott, Charles Duhon and Kevin Morris. Honorary Pallbearer is Delwin Talbott, Jr.
