William Mckinley Petross, Ii

William McKinley Petross, II, 58, of Iowa died on Sunday, November 4, 2012 in a local hospital.


Mr. Petross was born on December 1, 1953 in Lake Charles, LA and lived in Iowa the past 31 years. He was a 1973 graduate of Sulphur High School. Mr. Petross began his career in the oil field in 1977, holding numerous positions. He most recently performed consultant work in the industry.


He attended Maplewood Church of Christ. Mr. Petross enjoyed many things in life including fishing, four wheeler riding, cars, and spending time at his camp in Toledo Bend. He also adored his family and spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.


Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Malinda Petross of Iowa; a daughter, Nichole Davis Davenport and husband Dr. Pearre, III of Moss Bluff; two sons, Daniel Petross and wife Crystal of Moss Bluff and Kenneth Smith and wife Heather of Lacassine; a brother, Jerry Petross and wife Beverly of Sulphur; two sisters, Betty Petross Hubble of Oklahoma and Shyrol Dubose and husband Don of Lake Charles; and eleven grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Randall Petross.


The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. M. Khan, Dr. A. Khan, Dr. M. Jordan, and Dr. Erich Wolf.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calcasieu Parish Animal Services and Adoption Center, 5500-A Swift Plant Rd., Lake Charles, LA 70615 or to a cancer research of one's choice.


Mr. Petross gave the gift of sight at his death by donating his corneas.


Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A private service will be held at a later date.
