William “Pops” Cudd, 56, of Lake Charles passed away at 2:25 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in his residence.
Mr. Cudd was born on November 30, 1962 in Fort Worth, TX where he lived until moving to Lake Charles six years ago. He was a hard worker and provided for his family driving trucks for the past 35 years. He recently drove for Lake City Trucking for more than 4 years. Mr. Cudd was a past member of the Cowboy Church of Ellis County in Texas.
He took pleasure in fishing and cooking and appreciated the beauty of classic cars. Mr. Cudd was a Saints football fan and also enjoyed being a spectator of NASCAR. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory are his best friend and loving wife of 25 years, Tammy Cudd; children, Crystal Freeman and Cindy Weibley (Brandon) all of Texas, and Devlin Cudd (Josephine) of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren; and one brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Julius Cudd and three brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 7, 2019 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will take place following the service and inurnment will take place on Monday in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will begin on Saturday at 10:00 AM and continue until the start of the service.
