William Samuel "Sammy" Kleckley, 72, of Moss Bluff passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family, on Monday March 03, 2014, following a brief battle with brain cancer. Originally from Crockett Texas, Sammy served in the National Guard then was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis. He worked as the Vice President and General Manager of Wizard Enterprise and Stagger's Oil Company for over 36 years, before settling in Moss Bluff. He and his wife Patsy enjoyed traveling in their RV across the Southwest US and Mexico with his sister and brother in law, especially enjoying their trips to Arkansas where they would enjoy the nature and relax in the company of their lifelong friends. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of fifty four years, Patricia Ann Knox Kleckley of Moss Bluff; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Kleckley Carlock and husband Richard Guy Carlock of Westlake; two sons, James William Kleckley and wife Rhonda Rodriguez Kleckley and William Knox Kleckley of Lake Charles; six grandchildren, Faren Kleckley White, and husband Christian Charles White of Lake Charles; US Air Force Sr. Airman Collin James Kleckley of Great Falls, MT, Hallie Marie Kleckley of Lake Charles, Kelsey Elizabeth Carlock West and husband Coby Dale West of Iowa, Courtney Paige Carlock of Westlake and Meagan Kleckley Yates Crouch and husband Zach Crouch of Shreveport; great-grandchildren, Macy and Haegan Crouch of Shreveport; two great-grandchildren on the way; one sister, Eva Marie Kleckley Miller and husband Jack Irwin Miller of Trinity, TX; nieces and nephews, Karen Kleckley of Lake Charles, Lou Ann Turner and husband Larry of Crocket, TX, Malinda Shaver and Sheree Gilbert of Houston, TX, Janet Kleckley Klein and husband Kenny of Lake Charles and Charles Edward "Chuck" Kleckley and wife Laurie of Lake Charles. He was preceded in death by parents, Marvin and Ruby Viola Gentry Kleckley; two brothers, Wilse Edward and Aubrey Lee Kleckley, one sister, Sherry Lynn Kleckley; grandson, Jason Clint Cormier and great-grandson, Roman Charles White. Memorial services will be at 4:00 PM Friday, March 07, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. A gathering of friends and family Friday will be from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Mr. Kleckley's family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Brian Kelley and his nurses and staff for the special attention and treatment given to their Dad. Also, to the nurses and staff of Heart of Hospice for their excellence in care and compassion during this difficult time.
