William Willard Regan

William Willard (Ted) Regan, 97, was called to his eternal home on July 7, 2015, while in residence at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve, Louisiana. The beloved son of Emma Meyer Regan and Edward Regan, Ted, as he was fondly known, was born in Egan, Louisiana on March 22, 1918 and grew up in Crowley. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Ennis Richard Regan of Eunice and Jennings, Louisiana; sisters - Ethel, Estelle, Vernise, and Zula May and brothers - Theadore, Garlin, and Richard. Ted and Ennis spent over 50 years together at 1336 Loretto Avenue in Sulphur, Louisiana. Ted served in the US Army, 84th Division with the 333rd Battalion, spending time in Belgium, France, Germany, and Italy and the US Merchant Marines in World War II. His military awards included the EAME Service Medal, the WWII Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a lifetime member of Sulphur VFW Post 8107, and American Legion Post 179. He was also a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3015 and was active with Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur. He worked for Union Sulphur Company for 10 years and Conoco for 26 years, and retired from Conoco in 1980. Ted is survived by his daughter, Carla Beth Regan DeCorte and son-in-law Alan John DeCorte of Covington, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 14, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur. There will be a visitation from 9:00 - 10:00 am followed immediately by a funeral mass officiated by Father Edward J. Richard, MS. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. There will be a visitation at the Johnson & Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur on Monday, July 13, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:30 pm led by members of the Knights of Columbus Council 3015. The family would like to thank Mr. Regan's caregivers Tracy Francis, Ethel Simms, Ann Baker and Marcella Williams for their dedicated service. They would also like to thank the staff and nurses on Unit 4 of the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home and Serenity Hospice for Mr. Regan's care.
