Willie Burke Guillory

Willie Burke Guillory, 89, of Lake Charles passed away at 2:36 pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2016.

Mr. Guillory was born on July 6, 1926 in Mamou, LA and had resided in Lake Charles since the early 1950’s.  He proudly served in the US Army during World War II before becoming a Merchant Marine for many years.  Mr. Guillory began a career with the Port of Lake Charles retiring in 1997.  He had a love in life for gardening.

Those left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Sue Melton and husband, BG(R) Clayton Melton of Aledo, TX and Leann Martin and husband MG Joe Martin of Fort Irwin, CA; son Darrell Guillory of Seagoville, TX; three grandchildren, Tammie Waitley of Frisco, TX, Kylie Martin of Fort Worth, TX, and Joey Martin of St. Charles, MO; two great grandchildren, Sydney Waitley and Jackson Waitley; and a sister, Veronica Guillory.

His wife of 67 years, Vida Guillory; parents, Hattie and Albert Guillory, Sr.; and three siblings, Vernie, Albert, Jr., and Audrey Guillory preceded him in death.

A graveside service will be held at Prien Memorial Park, 2220 Country Club Road, Lake Charles, on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 9:00 AM.  The Rev. Steve Shirley will officiate.  An internment will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
