Willie Dell Reed

Willie Dell (Darlene) Reed, 76, of Lake Charles passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. Darlene was born on September 8, 1938 in Lake Charles, LA to the late Emma and Joseph Vigo. She was a personal lines insurance underwriter before retiring. Darlene enjoyed fishing, entertaining family, photography and gardening. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Elroy J. (Sonny) Reed; her three daughters, Margaret (Micky) Rowe, Donna G. Foster and Karen L. Reed; a son, David B. Reed; six grandchildren, Jennifer Goodlett, Aaron Bordelon, Alvin (Reed) Gossett, Samuel Foster, Peri Reed and Carter Reed; three great grandchildren. Carlie and Emmerson Goodlett and Ellie Bordelon; siblings, Floyd Romero, Julia Ravia, Frank Vigo, William (Billy) Vigo, Kelly Vigo, Theresa Meoulis, and Mary Jo Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, JoAnn Reed; a brother, Johnny Vigo; and a sister, Joyce East. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Darlene's brother, Rev. Kelly Vigo will officiate. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the start of the service.
