Willie Edgar Montgomery, 67, of Lake Charles, died on Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 at 9:00 AM at a local care center.
He was born to Edgar Willie and Lucy Louise Barrett Montgomery on March 15th, 1949, and lived most of his life in Lake Charles. Will had a special talent of singing and playing the piano and harmonica and loved to share this talent with others. His beautiful voice will be missed by many. Will was a faithful child of God all of his life and served in the ministry for a period of time. He also served our country in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and those left to cherish his memory are his son, Nakuma Montgomery and wife Tuesday, of Ville Platte, LA; daughter, Pauline Montgomery of Houston, TX; brother, Tim Montgomery, of Lake Charles; four sisters, Gale Clevenger, of Nacogdoches, TX; Barbara Clark and husband Ken, of St. George, Utah; Linda Fletcher, of Lake Charles; and Becky Mire and husband Keith of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Austin Richard; Gabriel, Baylee and Aiden Montgomery and Marcus, Ashley and Faleayn Montgomery and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 3rd, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home with Mr. Gilbert Reese and Mr. Randy Satterfield officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, June 3rd, from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Private interment services will be a later date.
