Wilson "Abe" Abshire Jr.

Wilson Abe Abshire Jr., 71 of Sulphur passed away on September 13, 2012 in his residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randall Chesson officiating. Burial will be at Antioch/Big Woods Cemetery under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 3-9 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Monday at 8 a.m. until time of service. Abe was a native of Gueydan and a long-time Sulphur resident. He worked for many years building houses until retiring. He enjoyed sports, his family, friends and his Cajun Heritage. Abe was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Abe was preceded in death by his wife, Ethlyn Abshire; his parents, Audrey and Wilson Abshire Sr.; and two sisters, Merna Lee Dugas and Shirley Korman.Abe. He is survived by his two sons, Anthony Abshire and wife, Kaci and Howard Blaine Abshire and wife, Dana all of Sulphur; daughter, Jada Abshire of Sulphur; sister, Gloria Moore and husband, Glen of Sulphur; granddaughter, Regan Abshire of Sulphur; fiance / caregiver, Tina Coffman of Sulphur and numerous nieces and nephews.
