Wilson Arabie

Wilson Arabie went to meet his Lord and Savior on February 17, 2022, in Houma, Louisiana. Wilson was born on July 16, 1930, to Melvil and Agate Arabie in Vinton, La. Wilson was a resident of Moss Bluff, La. most of his life. In November 1948 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He left the military as a Sergeant in 1952. Upon returning from the war, he married his sweetheart Hilda Fontenot of Iota Louisiana and remained married for forty-four years. Wilson and Hilda had four children and many grandchildren before the death of his beloved wife. Wilson was privileged to have the opportunity to have a second love, Ethel Trahan of Lake Charles, which he was married to for twenty-five years.

Wilson had many careers in his lifetime with his most significant being his love of paint and body work. He retired from Himont Refinery as a mechanic. He passed on his love of vehicles to his sons which have carried on his legacy. Wilson was a 4th Degree Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. St. Theodore Catholic Church as a devoted parishioner of the Catholic Faith.

Wilson was survived in life by his sister Vena Guillory of Moss Bluff, La, His sons, Pat (Evelyn) Arabie, Moss Bluff, La. and Mike (Beth) Arabie, Ragley, La., Daughters Dennes Faul (Gary), Katy, Tx and DeAnn (Frank) Smith, Houma, La and. Surviving Grand Children are Jacqueline Bonner, Moss Bluff La., April Arabie, Big Woods, La., Michael Arabie, Moss Bluff, La. Tiah Lewis, Ragley, La. and Magen Pursell, Moss Bluff, La. and spouses, Jeffrey Faul, Brookshire, Tx., Eric Faul, Kingwood, Tx., and Bryan Faul, Georgetown, Tx. and spouses.  Amber Smith, Heather Smith , and Kristina Smith, all of Houma, La., along with numerous nieces and nephews he loved as his own. Wilson had twenty-four great grandchildren with Dakota Bonner and Addison Smith preceded him in death.

Others preceding Wilson in death were his parents Melvil and Agate Arabie, his brothers Wesley, Alvin, Harry, Bobby, Willis, and Melvil Jr. along with sisters Louis and Bernice.

We will honor Wilson’s life at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, La. on Monday February 21, 2022, with visitation from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm with a Rosary beginning at 6:30 pm. Tuesday viewing will begin at 9 am until 10 am with a procession to and mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Ragley, La. at 10:30 am. The Rev. Jeffrey Starkovich will officiate. Wilson will be laid to rest at LeBleu Cemetery in Fenton, La. following the mass.
